Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Job Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Reports To: President
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY: Oversees all aspects of the United Way of Horry County image in the community and serves as the liaison between the organization and outside sources. This position reports to the President and acts independently with minimal supervision in a team-oriented office environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as United Way of Horry County spokesperson and serve as the public face of the organization in the community.
Responsible for creation, development and production of all public communications including flyers, press releases, annual reports and other promotional materials.
Responsible for managing all social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and WordPress website.
Responsible for all email communications via Constant Contact to include a weekly newsletter during Campaign season.
Organize, set-up and coordinate multiple special events throughout the year.
Develop and implement volunteer services programs.
Regularly attend outreach activities and networking events particularly pertaining to communications, marketing, United Way Community Partners and other non-profit entities.
Work as a member of the Waccamaw Long Term Recovery Group in Horry County on disaster recovery.
Attend Board of Directors (BOD) meetings periodically and apprise BOD of spokesperson related topics and image enhancement opportunities as needed.
Work closely with annual United Way campaign chairperson and campaign cabinet to include scheduling of community partner speakers at business/club meetings.
Additional duties as assigned throughout the year
- 1-3 years of marketing or advertising experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Technical skills in MSOffice Suite, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, WordPress website and all social media
- Routine use of advanced multi-tasking skills
- Self-starter, team player
- General office environment
- Frequent local travel and reliable transportation is required
SALARY AND BENEFITS: $36,000 plus paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, retirement, and health benefits
