United Way of Horry County’s 27th Annual Day of Caring was held on Friday, October 9th, 2020 and was presented by King Construction, Inc. While we will be took precautions this year, our volunteers were able to complete 11 projects across Horry County.
Our volunteers completed the following projects:
North Strand Housing Shelter: Volunteers pressure washed, landscaped, and paintied the interior of the shelter.
Family Outreach: Volunteers will be organized a storage unit that contains supplies for the Family Resource Center
Rape Crisis Center: Volunteers painted offices and reorganized a clothing room.
A Father’s Place: Volunteers compiled activity packets for fathers and their children. These packets included educational items and promotional company material.
Churches Assisting People: Volunteers pressure washed the building and sidewalk. They also build a flower box around the CAP sign that welcomes clients into the building.
Little River Medical Center: Volunteers painted interior exam rooms and hallways, painted exterior hand rails, stained an exterior fence, pressure washed an exterior fence, pressure washed the outside of the building, removed small shrubs, and planted new shrubs.
New Directions Men’s Shelter & Catholic Charities – Clean of Heart: Volunteers pressure washed the outside of the building, deweeded, and trimmed bushes.
Horry County Council on Aging: Volunteers painted the interior of the distribution center.
Habitat for Humanity: Volunteers assisted with building a Habitat home.
Neighbor to Neighbor: Volunteers assembled Personal Protection Equipment kits
