Publix Appreciation Week
Publix Supermarket Charities has been partnering with local United Ways for 41 years. Associates from the 4 stores in Horry County made up 19% of all donations this past year. Last year, Publix Associates pledged $215,353.20 towards UWHC’s mission of improving access to health, education, and financial stability.
This week, March 1st – March 5th, is Publix Appreciation Week. UWHC will be showing appreciation on social media and by leaving gifts and signs at the stores. This year, we will be celebrating distantly, but our appreciation is greater than ever! Thank you Publix Associates, you make the difference!
2020 Hidden Hero Award
UWHC presented Coastal Carolina University’s Department of Athletics with the 2020 Hidden Hero Award. The Hidden Hero Award is given out annually to an individual or organization that has gone above and beyond to help United Way of Horry County. The Hidden Hero recipient is often not recognized by the public for the work that they complete, but they are dedicated to our mission and diligently work to give back to Horry County.

May Day Bags
In the past, United Way of Horry County has collected items for our May Day Bag Program. Due to COVID-19 health and safety regulations, we ask that you consider donating $26 to fill one May Day bag for a local homebound senior.
1,000 bags are purchased and filled by United Way of Horry County. Then, these bags are distributed by Mobile Meals of the Grand Strand and Horry County Council on Aging.
You can now donate to make an impact on a local homebound senior. Funds raised support this event and the ongoing mission of impacting lives in Horry County.
