United Way of Horry County Launches Community Needs Assessment Survey to Guide Future Work

April 2, 2025 by unitedwayhorry

Conway, S.C. – United Way of Horry County (UWHC) is inviting residents, businesses, and community partners to participate in its 2025 Community Needs Assessment Survey. This important survey is designed to gather feedback and insights on the most pressing needs and priorities facing individuals and families throughout Horry County.

UWHC last conducted a countywide Community Needs Assessment in 2021, which played a critical role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction and community investments. The data collected informed new programs, partnerships, and funding priorities that are still impacting the community today.

“Listening to our community is the foundation of everything we do,” said Blakely Roof, President & CEO of United Way of Horry County. “The 2021 survey gave us a clearer picture of the challenges our neighbors face every day — from housing insecurity and access to mental health services to early childhood education and financial stability. We’ve made meaningful progress, but we know needs change over time. It’s time to hear from our community again.”

The 2025 Community Needs Assessment Survey is open now and can be completed online at www.unitedwayhorry.org/survey. Responses are anonymous and will help UWHC and local partners better understand where gaps exist, what resources are most needed, and how to improve the quality of life for all Horry County residents.

The survey will remain open through April 30, 2025. Results will be compiled and shared publicly later this year, providing a roadmap for future programs, partnerships, and investments.

“We’re asking everyone who lives or works in Horry County to take just a few minutes to share their voice,” said Roof, “When we know better, we can do better — together.”
