United, We Do More

United Way of Horry County brings our community together to break down barriers, meet urgent needs, and create opportunities so everyone can live their best possible life.
Health

Healthy Community

Improving Health and Wellbeing for all
We’re working toward a future where behavioral health needs are recognized, validated, and supported. By partnering with local organizations, we expand access to nutritious food, quality healthcare, and essential services so every person has the chance to thrive.

Youth Opportunity

Helping Every Child Succeed
From the first day of kindergarten to high school graduation, every child deserves the tools and support to reach their potential. Together with families, schools, and community partners, we’re creating pathways for children and youth to learn, achieve, and succeed.

Financial Security

Building Financial Stability and Strength
We envision a Horry County where every individual has the resources to build selfsufficiency. By supporting access to quality housing, career opportunities, and financial tools, we’re helping families move from surviving to thriving.

Community Resiliency

Creating a Stronger, More Resilient Community
Everyone deserves the security of knowing their basic needs will be met. Through collaboration, we work to ensure access to food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and healthcare — building a community that can respond to today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow.

Ready, Set Kindergarten! is our newest Mission Ready initiative! The program, presented by HTC, is for preschool children who will enter kindergarten at Horry County Schools in the coming school year (2027-2028).
During this one hour “Day in Kindergarten” experience, children and their caregivers will:
• Explore a real kindergarten classroom
• Take part in play-based learning activities
• Practice routines like lining up, circle time, and center time
• Learn simple strategies to get ready for kindergarten at home
• Tour the school and have a chance to see what your child's day to day will look like
• Ask questions directly to a school educator who will lead each session
Families will leave with resources, a book, and tools to help their child feel confident and excited about the first day of school. The best part is the entire program and all resources/materials provided are FREE of charge to each family in attendance, thank you to our amazing partners HTC!
