Community Resiliency
Creating a Stronger, More Resilient Community
Everyone deserves the security of knowing their basic needs will be met. Through collaboration, we work to ensure access to food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and healthcare — building a community that can respond to today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow.
This month's United Way in Action segment with WFXB FOX TV featured Kissie Melvin, Community Resource Coordinator with our THRIVE program.. we appreciate the chance to highlight our incredible coordinators who work tirelessly to give wrap around case management to families in our community. United is the Way we all thrive! 💙

Please join us in welcoming LaVonna Bucko to Team UWHC as our new Crisis Intervention Community Resource Coordinator!
LaVonna brings more than 12 years of experience as a Certified Peer Support Specialist and a genuine passion for helping people find stability and move forward with confidence. Originally from Philadelphia, LaVonna lived in Atlanta before she and her husband James moved to Myrtle Beach two years ago to be closer to family.
Outside of work, you'll find her bowling, playing putt-putt, or making memories with the people she loves most, including their four children, one grandchild, and two fur babies, Raja and Bill.
We're so glad to have LaVonna's heart for service on our team. Help us give her a warm welcome to Team UWHC! 💙
