Community Resiliency
Creating a Stronger, More Resilient Community
Everyone deserves the security of knowing their basic needs will be met. Through collaboration, we work to ensure access to food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and healthcare — building a community that can respond to today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow.
CoTisha is a single mother of three in Horry County. She's worked hard every single day. And still, some days, it hasn't felt like enough.
This week we're sharing her story, and her son Carmelo's, about sacrifice, resilience, and what's possible when a community shows up for its neighbors.
Watch it tomorrow 💙 #UnitedIsTheWay ... See MoreSee Less

Thanks to our incredible VITA volunteers, we made a real difference in Horry County this year! Together we filed 1,001 tax returns for free, helping neighbors save $200,200 in filing fees.
That's $1,496,702 in total economic impact right here in our community, including $185,622 in Earned Income Credits and $140,339 in Child Tax Credits. All made possible by 3,044 volunteer hours across our 3 site locations.
Thank you to every volunteer who made this possible! 💙 ... See MoreSee Less
