A Community Needs Assessment serves as the foundation for understanding and addressing our community’s most pressing challenges. United Way of Horry County first launched this work in 2021, and with our latest 2025 assessment, we remain committed to staying on the pulse of what our community needs most.
In partnership with local organizations, we conducted a county-wide survey and hosted a series of Community Conversations to hear directly from residents. We paired this community insight with data, research, and key statistics to create a comprehensive picture of life across Horry County.
