Camp United

We envision a community where all children enter kindergarten ready to learn.

Camp United is a program of United Way of Horry County serving Daisy, Green Sea Floyds, and Loris Elementary Schools, and Myrtle Beach Early Education Pre-K programs. Camp United is entirely funded by United Way of Horry County and is free to all who attend. Please donate today to help improve kindergarten readiness rates in Horry County.

Why Camp United?

Decades of research show that children who enter kindergarten not demonstrating the social/emotional, cognitive, and physical skills needed for success will continue to struggle academically throughout their school years. In Horry County, only 24% of children entering kindergarten meet the testing levels for Kindergarten readiness. Camp United provides students with the resources they need, such as exceptional teachers and high-quality early childhood programming, to thrive and be successful.

Camp United is a continuation of learning for students already enrolled in Horry County Schools Pre-K program who are performing below kindergarten readiness levels. Classes have no more than 15 students to keep class sizes small, promote individualized instruction, and are taught by licensed Horry County Schools teachers. Transportation, breakfast, lunch, supplies, and books are included at no cost to all who attend.
