Tidelands Health Grant Recipient
Tidelands Health awarded UWHC with a grant of $25,000 to be used to fund our new summer learning program, Camp United. Camp United is a program focused on improving math and literacy skills in kindergarten and first grade students in our county. In June 2021, Camp United will be held at Loris Elementary School.
Helping Spread Holiday Cheer
In December, our staff teamed up with our local Lowe’s Home Improvement stores to deliver Christmas trees and decorations to 20 families in Horry County that were recommended to us by 5 of our nonprofit partners. Three Lowe’s stores donated 6.5ft pre-lit trees, ornaments, and stockings! We are so thankful that we were able to spread some holiday cheer to those who needed it most.
Coastal Carolina University Football Gives Back
CCU Athletics contacted UWHC about giving back to local students in our community. We reached out to Loris Elementary School and the Chanticleer Football Team was able to adopt 7 students for Christmas. The team provided the students with toys and needed items for the upcoming winter months.
